rappelz site – new faq knowledge base

General Info & Registration
- 1. Where do I register to play the game?
- You can register by going to the following URL: http://register.gpotato.com/?m=register&a=registration
- 2. Will this game be FREE forever?
- Yes. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
- 3. Where do I download the game?
- You are able to download the game client from our Rappelz website at http://rappelz.gpotato.com/?m=downloads.
- 4. I have an account in Flyff. Do I need to register again to play Rappelz?
- No! You don’t need to register again, your account in Flyff will work in Rappelz, so you can go right on ahead and download and start playing without filling out any more forms.
- 5. I didn’t get my activation email!
- Since you only have three hours from when you create the account to activate it, the account has most likely already been deleted. You should go back to: http://register.gpotato.com/?m=register&a=registration and try again. There are three possible reasons that you might not get the activation email:
- Your email provider may be blocking gala-net.com with its spam blocker. [update: This is a CONFIRMED problem with Hotmail]
- Your email provider is experiencing delays. This is a common problem with international email.
- Earthlink has a special spam filter that forces people sending emails to Earthlink users to go to a website and provide a reason they’re sending the email. Our system cannot do this automatically. You will have to allow emails from the @gala-net.com domain in through your control panel.
If you continue to experience these problems, you might want to try setting up an account with a free email provider (such as Yahoo Mail or Hotmail) and try again, and then register your new account to the new email.
By the way, if your account still exists for some reason, my recommendation is to create a new account under a different email. Your account name is not seen by players, (except for on the message boards) so it does not matter what it is.
- 6. Why aren’t signatures working on the message board?
- Signatures have been deactivated for now.
- 7. I’m trying to create an account, but my username is invalid.
- Your username must be all lowercase, and may only contain letters and numbers.
Game Information
- 1. How do I obtain a creature for a pet?
- There are Merchant NPC’s in each town who sell creature cards for low level pets. Once you have purchased one of these cards, and have the taming skill active, you must defeat the same type of creature on the card. Once the creature is defeated, the creature will become your pet.
Also, you can obtain a creature card by hunting mobs in the game. When the creature drops a creature card you can defeat the same creature again to make them your pet.
- 2. How do I gain new skills?
- You can purchase new skills by using Job points (JP) by earning them through hunting monsters and completing quests. New skills will become available as you increase your Job level.
Note: Your Job level can not surpass your character level.
- 3. What is the Condition System?
- The Condition System allows you to earn more EXP and JP based on how much stamina your character has. The higher your stamina the more EXP and JP you will receive by hunting monsters.
- 4. How do I increase my stamina?
- You can restore your stamina by resting or drinking Stamina potions. If you are in town, the rate in which your stamina increases will be higher. Also, your character will automatically gain stamina when you log off.
- 5. Does my creature use stamina or have a Condition System?
- No, your creature does not use stamina and is not affected by the Condition System.

- 1. How do I report bugs?
- You can report bugs by sending an Email to rappelzbugs@gala-net.com
- 2. How do I report hackers and scammers?
- You can report hackers and scammers by sending an Email to rappelz@gala-net.com
- 3. How do I take a screenshot?
- You can take a screen shot by pressing the Print Screen button. Once you have taken the screenshot, your image will be saved to your Rappelz game folder.
- 4. How do I get help with Rappelz technical support?
- You can receive technical support by sending an Email to rappelztechsupport@gala-net.com

- 1. Current Status Window
- You can check your character’s overall status.
If you click the window, you will select your character.
If you move your mouse over the experience point bar, you can check how much stamina your character has left. - 2. Target Window (Ctrl+F)
- You can check the status of selected objects. You can close this window by pressing ESC.
- 3. Mini-map
- Here you can locate your character’s current position. Orange dots are NPC’s (Non-Player Characters) and you can get their name by moving your mouse over them
- 4. Chatting Window
- You can chat with other players using this window. Some useful chatting tips:1. If you use ‘!’ in front of your message, you can send your message to everyone.
2. You can press the TAB key to chat with only one player.
3. If you use ‘#’ in front of your message, you can send it to your party.
4. If you use ‘@’ in front of your message, you can send it to your guild.
5. You can use ‘$’ to advertise something. - 5. Quick-slot Window
- You can setup frequently-used skills or items with this window. You can use the shift, ctrl, and alt keys to increase the number of quick slots to 48.
- 6. Main Menu Window
- Various windows can be opened through the main menu window.
- 7. Character Window (Alt+A, Alt+C)
- You can check your character’s status.
- 8. Skill Window (Alt+S)
- You can improve your character’s skill and JLv (Job Level).
- 9. Inventory Window (Alt+I, Alt+`, Alt+space)
- You can change your character’s gear and view items you currently have.
- 10. Operation Window (Alt+T)
- Basic operation icons are provided here. You can register icons to the quick-slot by dragging them with your mouse.
- 11. World Map Window (Alt+M)

You should remember this next statement before you chat
If you press [Enter] during the game, the chat window will be activated. Pressing [Enter] after you write your message will send the message to others. There are six chat modes in Rappelz: Say, General, Whisper, Party, Guild, and Trade modes.
By putting a designated character in front of your message, you can use any of the six chat modes.
Open Chat
This is the basic chat mode in Rappelz. The color of your message is white, and the message will be shown to players around you. In open chat mode, you can see both system and group messages. Ex) Hi, this is Rappelz.
*General chat will be heard by everyone on the server, while using the Say chat mode, will only produce a message heard by those around you.
Using Emoticons
You can use the emoticons in the operation window to have more interesting chat discussions with others around you.

Open Beta Maps Confirmed! [ September 22, 2008 ]
There was 1 major lesson that the Tales Runner team learned during last month’s closed beta. Well, 2 actually.
Lesson 1: There were not enough maps. We had 6 in place to get everyone used to the game but we didn’t fully take into account how often people would be playing and how many people were actually going to join the CB. There were a lot of you and you all played a lot! Thanks again for that!
Lesson 2: It is totally possible to survive on Red Bull, cheeseburgers, and willpower for at least 2 weeks straight. Although it messes up your social life and no one wants to sit next to you on the bus.
We’ll be applying our recently acquired knowledge to the Open Beta (Oct.16).
And we’ll be carpooling from now on too. People on the bus are just plain mean.
So…which maps are coming out?

Fury of Daddy Octopus: Not only will you have to run away from this screen devouring behemoth but you’ll have to dodge his lightning attacks! |

Hurdles: Clear the hurdles but be ready because there are more just around the bend. Run too fast and you’ll trip on a hurdle; run too slow and other Runners will pass right by you. |

Jack and the Beanstalk: Race up the famous Beanstalk while dodging other racers and giant caterpillars! |

Speed: This is the most basic Tales Runner map and is perfect for people who are new to the Tales Runner story. |

The Two Brothers: This is the map to play for beginners that are looking for a good way to get accustomed to the game. |

The Two Brothers Pt. 2: This map comes complete with a pit that prevents anyone from moving faster than a slow jog and demons of all sizes. |

The Snow Girl: Choose between speed boosts and Capsule Items as you make your way down a mountain covered in logs, trees, and bottomless pits. |

The Snow Girl 2: Race down the Snow Girl’s mountain but watch out for those crazy long-jumps. Take the high road to avoid being slowed down by packed snow. |

Sun and Moon: Will you pick up the rice cakes and give them to the tigers blocking your path? Or will you stick with Capsule Items and fight your way to the finish? |

The Frog Prince: You can’t finish the race without retrieving the Princess’s golden ball so make sure to pick one up. |
